A designer, gemologist, photographer, brand consultant, travel specialist, an entrepreneur & of course a dancer - Jay has always loved wearing multiple hats. He has undertaken journeys across varied paths out of his natural instincts of curiousity & creativity as and when an opportunity to do so presented itself.
Jay's journey on the path of dance began in 2009 in the city of Bangalore - also known as the Salsa capital of India. He was fortunate to learn from some of the finest instructors in the country including Alex Diaz, Richard David Tholoor, Minoti Ramachandra, Hubert Tassin & Lourd Vijay. In addition, he also had the opportunity to attend workshops with many internationally acclaimed dancers like Eddie Torres (USA), Daniel & Ahtoy of Baila Society (USA), Chiquito (Italy), Vito y Stefania (Italy), Alien Ramirez (USA), Oliver Pineda (Australia), Marvin Ramos Acosta (Columbia), Jorge 'Ataca' & Tanja 'Alamena' (USA) and many more at various Salsa congresses & festivals.
Wanting to advance his learning further & refine his technique, Jay found his guru in Alex Diaz, who personally trained him as an instructor. He regularly attends workshops by various instructors to persistently refine his dancing skills. Apart from Salsa, he also enjoys other dance forms such as Bachata, Jive, Merengue, Argentine Tango & Rueda de Casino.
In 2013, destiny brought him to the city of Ahmedabad in western India, where a Salsa community was virtually non-existent. Not willing to give up on his passion for Salsa, Jay decided to introduce the dancers in the city to authentic Latin music & dance - and thus Furor Ahmedabad was born. Salsa community in Ahmedabad has been steadily growing in size and evolving ever since. His main goal now is to share and spread his passion for Latin dance and in particular Salsa to Ahmedabad & other nearby cities of Gujarat.
Jay is a professinally trained designer from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). He specializes in Jewellery & Precious Products and is a gemologist trained at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). He currently also runs a luxury travel & boutique holidays business (Vibrant Voyages) and enjoys exploring new destinations through his own travels as well as through the eyes of his clients.

Alex Diaz, Director, Furor Entertainment Pvt Ltd
Alex is a first generation Cuban-American, or as he might put it "made in America with Cuban parts." He is a native of New Jersey, where latin music and culture were an ever-present part of his childhood. However, it was during his college years that his passion for dancing was kindled, while Salsa dancing in New York. Since then Alex has learned from various world renowned instructors including Razz M' Tazz (NY), Cultural Explosion (NJ), Franklin Diaz (NY), Eddie Torres (NY), Frankie Martinez (NY) and Super Mario (UK) to name a few, and he has undergone an instructor certification course with Salsa icon, Edie "The Salsa Freak." Never complacent, he continues to learn from other instructors every chance he gets.
Alex has had the opportunity to share his passion for Salsa and Latin dance through performances and workshops in numerous cities and congresses across the United States and throughout the world, including:

Alex has a unique style of dancing that includes a blend of traditional Salsa/Mambo with elements of Guaguanco, Flamenco, Jazz & Modern. He is smooth and graceful, yet powerful and passionate. His connection to and interpretation of the music is uncanny, and you'll often find him singing along while dancing.
His style of teaching focuses on proper technique, body movement and musical timing. His classes are well-structured, detailed, full of energy and fun.
